The Challenge
Fort Garry Industries (FGI), a Canadian heavy-duty commercial vehicle parts supplier, wanted to make sure that buyers could purchase however they prefer, so they decided to launch an ecommerce operation. Their goal was to add a true ecommerce platform, improve their customers’ experience, and enhance product discoverability earlier in the search process. FGI enlisted the help of Xngage.
The Xngage Solution
Ecommerce Strategy: After evaluating FGI’s unique business needs including their tech stack, business processes, and goals, the team at Xngage recommended they use OroCommerce’s B2B ecommerce platform.
Ecommerce Implementation: Once the first phase of implementation was completed, FGI was able to realize benefits early and minimize business disruptions from multiple technical changes. The Xngage implementation team used FGI’s existing online ordering system as the base model and leveraged out-of-the-box features to improve the customer experience with product visibility and order history. Integration with the existing ERP was complex, but the Xngage technical design will make future changes simple and easy to support.
The Results
“Promises made and promises kept,” said Matt Albus, Fort Garry Industries Director of Information Technology. “We scoped a tight, strategic initial project, and the Xngage team delivered using their experience in both B2B and technology spaces. That’s refreshing for us and we look forward to partnering on more projects.”
